Really enjoyed this dialogue! As a literacy researcher & teacher educator, the questions about “who has access to the forms of reading/writing needed to engage with philosophy?” really resonated. There’s an emerging body of work that is attempting to make those disciplinary practices more legible and teachable for high school teachers, but standardized testing, poor curriculum, College Board, etc. has really eroded teachers relationship and familiarity with their respective disciplines (even at “high performing” schools).
